With our deepest sympathy
Dearest Auntie Mary you will be so missed by so many people, the kindest ,caring soul .God bless xxx 💗
Mary was always so welcoming when I and lots of other friends of Tim would pile in to the house, a haven of calm normality amid the whirlwind of adolescent obsessions- which carried on well past adolescence. There was an air of joyful exasperation as she rolled her eyes at the latest madness and then went to fetch more cake. Years later when I visited again, and thought, "Well, she won't remember me," it was as though we'd seen her yesterday. In later years we saw the effects of MS at closer quarters. We have some insight as to the effect that Derek's MS and his loss must have had and and realise how much I took that apparently effortless loveliness for granted. Heroic is right. I'm sad I never said any of this to her, but happy to have known Mrs B and to have been able to say goodbye. Liz was not able to come, but saw the photo on the order of service and said, Oh yes, that's the lovely smile.
